To be employed in the research projects of the newly established Smart City Research Center and the Alliance on Digital Management of Pandemic Disasters, 5 full-time PhD scholarships are available.
The candidates must fulfil the following conditions:
- M.Sc. degree (with thesis) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree;
- Excellent in English writing, reading and conversation;
- Highly motivated in research;
- Highly talented in analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and problem solving;
- Can work independently;
The research projects have the following characteristics:
- The projects are granted by TÜBİTAK and the TOBB ETÜ University. The project duration is initially for 3 years and will be extended to the 4th year in case of successful progress;
- The project will be largely executed at the premises of the TOBB ETU university.
- An agreement is being made between the TOBB ETU University and the Universities of Technical University of Eindhoven, Twente University and Wageningen University, all in The Netherlands, for co-supervision and double Ph.D. degrees. Candidates may spend part of their times at these universities, if appropriate;
- The research projects will be carried out in close cooperation with industrial partners of the Alliance on Digital Management of pandemic Disasters;
- The salary is 6500 TL/month. Additional support by industrial partners is under negotiation. Also, the candidates will be granted by TOBB ETU for certain employee benefits;
- The candidates must fulfil the conditions imposed by TÜBİTAK and TOBB ETU.
